No serious injuries were reported Sunday evening after an SUV turning onto State Route 12 from Monte-Brady Road struck a minivan on the highway, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Patricia Jean Firth, 74, of Puyallup, failed to yield the right of way, according to the State Patrol, as she turned onto the highway in her 2008 Toyota RAV4 about 6:45 p.m. She struck a westbound traveling 2003 Dodge Caravan driven by Daryl Lyndon Wood, 29, of Tacoma. The SUV was only slightly damaged, and was driven from the scene. The Caravan was towed from the scene.
Firth and Wood were not injured, according to the State Patrol, while the 52-year-old passenger in the Caravan, John Karl Frick of Aberdeen, was taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen as a “precautionary” measure, according to the State Patrol.
Firth was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
