Suspect wore red bandana in two Thurston County armed robberies Monday night

Police believe the same man robbed the AM/PM on Old Highway 99 in Grand Mound at gunpoint Monday night a Chevron on Trosper Road in Tumwater just hours earlier. Both suspects wore a red bandana over their face during the robberies.

Tumwater Police Detective Jen Kolb said Tuesday that investigators believe the suspect in the AM/PM robbery in Grand Mound is the same person who robbed the Chevron on Trosper Road in Tumwater.

Kolb said surveillance footage from both robberies shows the same robbery suspect.

“I think it’s going to be the same guy,” she said.

The Chevron robbery in Tumwater occurred about 8 p.m. The AM/PM robbery in Grand Mound occurred about 11:40 p.m.

During the Chevron robbery in Tumwater, the suspect stole cash and cigarettes.

During the AM/PM robbery in Grand Mound, the suspect entered the store located in the 19000 block of Old Highway 99 and demanded cash from the terrified store employee, Brady said.

Brady said investigators are reviewing store surveillance from both robberies and consulting with Tumwater police.
