Alexander (Sandy) Wilson passed away June 22, 2014, from complications of a stroke. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family that loved him deeply.
Sandy was born September 16, 1940, in Alert Bay, B. C., Canada to Walter and Signe Wilson. He grew up in Sointula, BC, a small Finnish community.
He moved to the U.S to take a job with Lamb Grays Harbor in Hoquiam Wash. He spent most of his career working for Lamb’s. He was known for his work in the pulp and paper industry. He loved his work and was acknowledged for his amazing ability as a problem solver. He and a co-worker started a business together called Viatech. He was working up until the day he died.
Sandy absolutely loved his family and spent countless hours and vacations with them. It was rare that he would miss a birthday or event for his grandchildren. He enjoyed concerts, sporting events and most of all golf! If he wasn’t playing it, he loved watching it. He was a productive person and thoroughly enjoyed serving others.
Sandy is survived by two daughters and one son, Ella-Mae Keatts of Lewiston, Carrie Amato of Portland and Michael Wilson of Seattle. He had eight grandchildren which he delighted in. He is also survived by his brother, Lawrence (Larry) Wilson of Surrey, BC.
Sandy was well loved. His family is heartbroken and will miss him immensely.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Aug. 2, 2014, at the Grays Harbor Country Club at 2 p.m. For those who would like to play a round of golf in Sandy’s honor, a shotgun round of golf will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
