Alfred Bryan, Sr., 80 years of age and a longtime Harborite, died on Thursday, December 26, 2013, at Montesano Health and Rehabilitation Center in Montesano, Washington. He was born on November 14, 1933, in Hoquiam, Washington to William and Elizabeth (Kowoosh) Bryan, Sr. He was an enrolled member of the Quileute / Quinault Indian Nations.
In his younger years he worked in area mills. He then followed his passion of being a commercial fisherman for the greater part of his working life. He loved being on the ocean and area rivers.
Alfred is survived by his brother, Edward Bryan, Sr.; his sister, Betty Beth Giers; his children, Alfred Bryan, Jr., William Bryan, James Matthew Bryan and Leonard Bryan; his daughters, Thelma Shay, Elsie Boyer, Elizabeth Bryan and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Pete Bryan, a brother, Greg Bryan and many infant siblings.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, December 30, 2013, at the Coleman Mortuary, 422 – 5th Street in Hoquiam. Concluding services and interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park in Hoquiam.
