Betty was born Dec. 23, 1919, to Delbert S. Miller and Madge Kittle Miller in Bremen, Ohio. She grew up in Ohio and graduated from Bremen High School in 1936. After high school she enrolled at the Bible Holiness Seminary in Owosso, Mich. She graduated with a ThB in 1939. She was licensed as a minister in the Pilgrim Holiness Church in 1941 and ordained in 1948 in the church which later became the Wesleyan Church.

Reverend Miller had quite an extensive education; beside the seminary degree, she attended Central Michigan College of Education, received an A.B. from Seattle Pacific College, attended the University of Oregon, attended Portland State University, and received her M.A. in English from the University of Idaho. She taught at the Bible Holiness Seminary Western Pilgrim College in El Monte, Calif., Cascade College in Portland, Ore., and Grays Harbor College in Washington State.

Above all Reverend Miller was a Pastor at five churches, and an owner and manager of a Christian bookstore to encourage people to study the Bible and good Christian literature. She was pastored the Wesleyan Church in Raymond from 1960 through 2010 when she retired. During that time she also was a pastor at the Wesleyan Church in Lebam Washington from 1972 through 1985. Coupled with her ministry, she also found time to write and publish several books. Truly, she has had a long and fruitful ministry.
