Betty Lue (Leitch) McDaniel

Betty Lue (Leitch) McDaniel, born April 26, 1925, to Thelma & Stanley Leitch in Underwood, Minn., passed-away Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, in Aberdeen. She was 89. In 1951, she followed her family to Seattle, Wash., where she married Charles William McDaniel on Nov. 10, 1951. On Aug. 28, 1952, she gave birth to her only child, a daughter, Maxine E. Bender. She and Charles “Mac” divorced in 1965. She worked in thier upholstery business she and her husband had for many years. She also, worked all phases of the culinary field including catering and management. She worked 13 years at the Ballard Elks No. 827. She moved to Aberdeen in 1998 to be near her daughter, Maxine (McDaniel) Bender, retiring at age 76. Besides daughter, Maxine, she is survived by her brother, Mervin Leitch (Renee) of Lake Stevens and sister, Sandra Valentinsen (Leroy) of McKenna, Wash., many friends, several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers; Richard Leitch (Sharon) and David Leitch. Betty Lue was an active member of R.E.A.C., Aberdeen #24. A celebration of Betty’s life will be announced at a later date.
