Carl Nordberg, 76, longtime Harborite, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at his home in Hoquiam.
Born Glenn Carl Nordberg on Aug. 29, 1937, in Moclips, Wash., to Alf Benjamin and Beulah Viola (Cooper) Nordberg. He grew up in Wishkah Valley and attended Wishkah High School. He moved to Taft, Calif., in 1958. Then on Sept. 18, 1959, he married Shirley Ehly in Las Vegas, Nev. She died in Aberdeen on July 27, 1995.
They returned to the harbor in 1981 and have lived here till present.
Carl worked as a janitor at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Hoquiam and retired in the early 90’s. He loved to go bird watching whenever he had the chance.
Carl is survived by two sons: Larry and wife Kellie of Aberdeen and Mike of Hoquiam; two daughters: Vickie and husband Daryl Beck of Humptulips and Trudy Dunbar of Portland, Ore.; his father, Alf B. Nordberg of Hoquiam; a brother, Ted Nordberg of Nebraska; a sister, Viola Nordberg of Centralia; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Carl was preceded in death by an infant sister Beverley Nordberg.
There will be no services for Carl. He will be inurned later at Fern Hill Cemetery in Aberdeen.
