Darlene Rae (Smith) Blair, passed away on February 10, 2014, and we lost the best mom ever. She was born on August 8, 1935, in Aberdeen, to John M. and Hazel E. (Morrison) Smith. She attended Bremerton and Hoquiam schools, graduating in 1953.
On January 26, 1957, she married Ted Blair. Along with raising six children, she enjoyed gardening and crafts including sewing clothes for family and herself. She also enjoyed bowling, and was an active member of the 1st Baptist Church of Elma. She was the treasurer of the S.W. Washington 2 Cylinder Club for many years. She was a life member of the Eagles Auxiliary. Darlene loved watching her kids activities and sports. She belonged to the Football and Wrestling boosters. In 1996, she graduated from Grays Harbor College with a Office Tech Degree.
She is survived by sister, Dollie Ann Cutlip; children, Dennis M. (Lupe) Blair of Ontario, Calif., LaRayne M. Andrews of Central Park, Jacqueline E. Coulter (Joe) of Aberdeen, and Michael S. (Andrea) Blair of Forks, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Gregory and Theodore IV; son-in-law, Dale Andrews.
She truly loved her family and friends. Those who knew her called her “sweet, kind and gracious” and will be dearly missed.
