Jack Paul Petrie, 77, passed away in Woodburn, Ore., on Thursday, July 31, 2014. Jack was born April 6, 1937, in Hawthorne, Calif., to John and Anna (Bridges) Petrie.
Jack is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lillian (Teagle) Petrie, and their four children, Steven (Sue) Petrie, Laura (Brian) Wolfe, Meredith Petrie and Thomas (Kimberly) Petrie; his eight grandchildren Sarah (Kenny), Brenna, Tanner, Samuel, Jacob, Carson, Shelby and Emily; a great-grandchild, Rylee, and one on the way; Rainie, his faithful pup; one sister Florence (Mirrell) Brewer and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Hal Nielson and Alex Petrie, and two sisters, Tonah Christopherson and Dody Christopherson.
Jack worked at ITT Rayonier for 18 years and Interstate Distributor Company for 30 years. He was a dedicated, hard-working man, who believed in an honest days work.
Jack belonged to the LDS church. He enjoyed watching boxing, Indy Car races and spending time camping and fishing with his family. Jack was a kind and gentle man who touched many lives and was loved by all. We will miss him.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug, 6, 2014, at the LDS church located at 122 Henriot Road Winlock, Wash., 98596.
