Lifelong Hoquiam resident Margaret Louise McLaughlin, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Westhaven Villa in Aberdeen. Margaret was born March 23, 1929, in Hoquiam, Wash., to Samuel and Margaret (Berdine) Key.
In 1949, she married Harold “Bud” McLaughlin in Cosmopolis. He passed away April 8, 2008.
Margaret went back to school and graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1965, and Grays Harbor College in 1967.
Margaret had worked for J.C. Penny, Boeing, Boise Cascade, Lamb Grays Harbor, Mayr Bros. and had owned Top Cat Gifts.
She enjoyed sewing and going to swap meets and had belonged to the Hoquiam Elks Lodge and served as president of the Emblem Club.
Margaret is survived by her three sons, Gary (Linda), and Patrick both of Aberdeen and Richard (Marta) McLaughlin of Hoquiam; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Bud she is preceded in death by her son, Mark; and her two daughters, Mardonna and Peggy.
A celebration of life for both Bud and Margaret will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, March 23, at the Aberdeen Elks Lodge, potluck encouraged.
