Michael James Webber, 37 years of age and a longtime Hoquiam area resident, died on Monday, December 23, 2013, in a logging accident in the Capital Forest near Olympia. He was born on March 12, 1976, in Aberdeen to Richard L. and Cheryl V. (Bonfield) Webber.
Michael was raised and attended school in Hoquiam and graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1995. As a youth he was active in Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts.
He volunteered with the Copalis Crossing Fire Department #16 and had graduated from the fire academy earlier this year. Michael was a history buff and enjoyed reenactments of the Civil War.
Michael loved hunting, fishing camping and clam digging. He was mechanically inclined and loved working on his own cars and trucks and well as those of family and friends.
Michael is survived by his parents, Richard L. and Cheryl V. Webber of the Hoquiam family home; his brother, Kevin Webber (Elizabeth) of Hoquiam; his sister, Rachel Webber of Hoquiam; his half brother, Richard Webber, Jr. of Hillsboro, Oregon; his half sister, Gidget Reys of Hilsboro, Oregon; six children, Channel, Austin, Joel, Devin, Jace and Zackery; his uncles, Les Bonfield, Jim Bonfield, Ron Webber and Bob Webber all of Hoquiam; his loving companion Michelle Teller of Hoquiam.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Harbor Assembly of God Church in Hoquiam..
