Minnie Rose Wixson 82, passed away peacefully Monday April 7, 2014, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Wash.
Minnie was born June 2, 1931 in Max North Dakota to Frank and Louise Allen.
She married George O. Wixson on Nov. 26, 1952, in Olympia and together they raised three children.
Minnie worked for many different restaurants on the Harbor and did banquets at the Emerson Hotel in the late 1960’s.
Minnie started bowling in leagues in the early 1970’s; she enjoyed her water aerobics with the “GIRLS”, and made several trips to the casino with her travel companion “Jessie” her dog.
Minnie enjoyed the Elma Auto Racing Hall of Fame; she spent many hours every Sunday afternoon, working a gate at turn four, while her husband raced.
Minnie is survived by her daughters; Cindy Badgett of Montesano, Wash., Candice Wixson-Regan of Grass Valley, Calif. her grandchildren; Mylo Wixson, Aleana (Jesse) Harris, Jessica Wixson, Rachel (Dan) Kittle, Melissa Beck and Matthew Beck, and also her great-grand-children; Daden Wixson, Riley Wixson, Isabel Harris, Austin Harris, Judah Kittle, and Sophie Kittle.
Along with Minnie’s parents and husband she was also preceded in death by her grandsons Kevin Beck and Christopher Regan.
A funeral service will be held at the Light and Life Community Church 2740 Simpson Avenue Hoquiam, Wash., at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, with Pastor Brad Gill officiating. Burial will follow at the Wynooche Cemetery in Montesano, Wash.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Harrison Family Mortuary 311 W. Market Street in Aberdeen, Wash.
