Michael Franklin Daniels, 63, passed in Seattle, Wash., on Aug. 3, 2014. He was born in Shelton, Wash., on March 26, 1951.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Sandi Daniels of Olympia; his daughters, Brandi Bednarik of Montesano; Corrie Barnacascel (Ryan) of Olympia and Cara Youmans of Olympia; his brother Denny Daniels (Vicki) of Chehalis, and six grandchildren: Trevor Daniels, Rylee Bednarik, Brandon Barnacascel, Teagan Youmans, Grayden Youmans, and Hadley Youmans. He was preceded in death by his parents, Del and Grace Daniels, and his older brother Ron Daniels.
Mike graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1969 and from South Puget Sound Community College. He started his engineering career at Lambs Grays Harbor and then continued professionally as Public Services Director for Grays Harbor County, Mayor of Montesano, and most recently, a managing partner in Pacific International Engineering in the Olympia office.
Mike was a gentle soul, best known as a loving family man with a dry, witty sense of humor. He enjoyed gardening and golf. He was well respected personally and professionally by his friends and business associates for his skills, insight, and kindness to others.
At Mike’s request there will be no public service. A celebration of his life will be held by his family at a later date. Donations in remembrance of Mike can be sent to the Grays Harbor Historical Seaport Authority or the American Heart Association.
