My husband, my best friend, my lover and the father of our two sons, Richard Reese, passed from this life to his long awaited reward, dancing and leaping into the arms of his Beloved Jesus, Friday, February 14, 2014. Surrounded by the family whom he loved dearly, it was amidst great joy, peace, and celebration that he left this world and the old, infirm, battered body.
His sons, Eric Reese and Daniel Reese, both live in Whitefish, Mont.,where Richard had the pleasure to live for the past nine years, hanging out with all five of his grandchildren; his sons; and their spouses. Richard grew up in Hoquiam, where his parents, Millie and Leon Reese, owned Reese’s Burgers. Richard took over the business in 1970 making “the best burgers around”, until an auto accident left him a paraplegic in 1975.
Disabled, but not handicapped, Richard and the family moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho where he owned a one-hour photo for 20 years, selling that business to move to Whitefish to be with his sons and grandchildren. Richard always felt he was living the good life. He had a knack for loving everyone unconditionally, loved taking care of friends and family, and was always ready to help whoever needed him. He was much loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Richard’s going home party will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at 1 p.m., at Headwater’s Ministries in Whitefish, Montana.
Karen, Eric and Daniel are all on facebook if you want to leave a message or have a good story for them about Richard.
Cremation arrangements are by Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish, Montana.
