Robert Leslie Lewin (Bob)


Robert Leslie Lewin (Bob) 83, of Hoquiam, Wash., passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital. He was born August 10, 1930, in Montesano, to John and Dorothy (Utter) Lewin. He graduated from Hoquiam High School and was a member of Bethel Temple which later changed to Harbor Assembly of God in Hoquiam.

Robert retired from Weyerhaeuser in 1994, after 26 years of service working at the Pulp Mill as a Screen Tender. He loved to fish in any kind of weather, rain or shine, and was rewarded well. Bob was an avid sports fan. In 1952, he married Marion Marie Brooks; together they had six children, she passed away in 1985. In l990, Bob married Jeannie Rothmeyer; she had three children. They celebrated their 23rd anniversary in October of this year. They spent their retirement enjoying their motor home, grandchildren and life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jeannie of Aberdeen; three daughters; Patricia (George) Skanes of Tacoma, Ruth (Jim) Aiken and Cheryl (Thomas) Maladore both of Aberdeen; three sons, Robert Lewin Jr. and Donald (Chris) Lewin both of Aberdeen, Mike (Chris) Lewin of Hoquiam; one stepdaughter, Melinda Minker of Rochester, and two stepsons, Jeff (Connie) Rothmeyer of Aberdeen and Aaron (Tanya) Rothmeyer of Centralia; three sisters, Lois Root of Shelton, Ida Eldred of Oakville and Donna Brooks of Aberdeen; four brothers, John(LaVerna) Lewin of Shelton, Harold Lewin of Olympia, Delbert (Carol) Lewin of Tumwater, and Gerald (Mary) Lewin of Green Bay, Wis.; also 48 grand/great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Bessie Deering and Maxine Selin.

A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Harbor Assembly of God located at 716 M St., in Hoquiam with Pastor Ken Middleton officiating.
