Virginia Darline (Dayton) Hillman of Aberdeen passed away at Pacific Care Center on Friday June 6, 2014. She was 70. Virginia was born on March 10, 1944, in Selah, Wash., to Hugh and Florence (Flanders) Dayton and lived her entire life in Washington.
Virginia was married on July 10, 1962, to Julius “Hooley” Hillman in Prosser, Wash. He passed away in November of 1983. Together they raised one daughter.
Virginia worked for Eng. Coating Systems for 25 years. She also worked for Seattle East 76 auto trucking plaza (Ken Truck Town) for 12 years before being forced to retire because of health issues with her knees. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary.
Virginia loved most all crafts and loved to crochet and knit. She loved working with yarn and doing anything to help with children, mostly her nieces and nephews. She also had a love of dogs.
Virginia is survived by her daughter; Julie and son-in-law Jeff LaPrarie of Issaquah, Wash., one sister, June Evans, and one brother, Ed Dayton.
Along with her husband Julius, Virginia was also preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Scotty LaPrarie.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Cosmopolis Lions Club located at 601 Second St. in Cosmopolis.
