Jones collection is a treasure

An item in “100 years ago in the Washie” dated Feb. 20, 2014, about the Jones Studio opening for business struck me as very significant.

I am wondering if the local community has any plans to celebrate that historic event. Few Harbor businesses in the 20th Century have left such a lasting legacy as the Jones Photo Studio.

One only has to peruse the Jones Photo Collection online for a short time to recognize the significance of the work of the Jones family. It would be great to see some type of public acknowledgement, maybe at the museum. Since I do not live on the Harbor, perhaps I missed the boat on this one.

While I am writing about this subject, I would like to thank the Jones family and the folks at Anderson-Middleton Co. for providing the photo collection to the public.
