New pastor at United Christian Church

A retirement dinner was held at the United Christian Church for Pastor John A. Fischer and his wife, Sue, recently. John completed 14 years of service at United Christian which is longer than any minister we have had. John and Sue will be doing more traveling in their retirement.

Pastor Jeff Johnson preached his first sermon at UCC on Feb. 9. He was raised in Hoquiam, received an undergraduate degree in accounting from Western Washington University and has been attending Multomah Bible Seminary the last four years, working on his masters of Divinity degree. He will be graduating this spring. He was the youth and associate pastor at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Hoquiam.

Jeff and his wife, Heather, have been married 2 1/2 years and live in Cosmopolis. Heather grew up in Marquette, Mich. and moved to Washington to take a teaching job at North River School. While in college she majored in French and even studied in France for a semester.

Pastor Jeff will be teaching the Adult Sunday school class which begins at 9:45 every Sunday morning.
