Say “no” to oil

Let’s really think about these oil trains. For those of you who say it will create 200 jobs around the Harbor, I say bull.

List the jobs it will bring here and what the pay is. And no, the temporary construction jobs don’t count. We need sustainable jobs here on the Harbor that will be here for the community. Look at the safety record of oil trains in the last year — not very safe if you ask me. I found four derailments in the last six months. If oil dumps into our harbor it will devastate our fishing industry and kill the tourism that fishing in our rivers and on the harbor have brought in recent years.

Hey port commissioners, how about a marina in Aberdeen? I would bet it would bring in as many or more jobs plus make things easier for the citizens of Grays Harbor.
