RSVP is a national volunteer program linking the skills and experience of older adults with community needs. Our goal is to help people 55 and over find fulfilling volunteer opportunities at local nonprofits in our community.

Locally, the Grays Harbor/Pacific County RSVP is sponsored by Coastal Community Action Program. You can think of RSVP as a kind of one-stop shopping for volunteers. You tell us which skills or interests you’d like to use as a volunteer, how often you’d like to volunteer, and what geographic area you want — and we’ll find opportunities for you to choose from. And, when you find one you like, we will get you connected to that organization. As your volunteer needs evolve, we will continue to work with you, providing ongoing information and support.

As a federally-funded program, RSVP members get benefits, including free supplemental insurance that covers you while you volunteer. In the unfortunate event that something happens to you while volunteering, the insurance will help cover deductibles and out of pocket expenses related to the accident. Our members also get an RSVP newsletter, annual recognition and they can request a small mileage reimbursement.

Across the country, people 55 and over are volunteering thousands of hours every year to help their communities. Your volunteer hours will be counted and combined with theirs to demonstrate the impact of older adult volunteerism – to show policy makers and the community that older adults are making meaningful contributions, solving problems and bringing our communities together.

Call me at 532-4900 to find a volunteer opportunity that’s right for you!
