“12 Angry Men” showing

7th St. Theatre’s Silver Screen Classics Film Series will feature the movie “12 Angry Men” on Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Sept. 15 at 2 p.m.

The 1957 movie follows a jury deciding the fate of a man during a murder trial. It was based on a television play which also followed a hung jury as 12 different personalities dissect what it means to be guilty.

“Next to Normal” auditions

Auditions for “Next to Normal,” the fall musical production at Grays Harbor College, are scheduled for 7 p.m. both Wednesday, Sept.18 and Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Bishop Center.

The rock musical will be performed the first two weekends of November.

The cast includes four men and two women. “Next to Normal” explores how a suburban housewife copes with crisis and mental illness, with book and lyrics by Brian Yockey and music by Tom Kitt. For the auditions, men should plan on signing “I Am The One,” while women will sing “Superboy” or “I Miss the Mountains.” Those trying out may also prepare 16 measures of another song as well.

New release

Nirvana’s “In Utero” re-release

On Sept. 24, a special edition of Nirvana’s “In Utero” album, including more than 70 previously unreleased tracks, hits store shelves.

Universal Music Enterprises plans to release the remastered collection in three different sets: 3 CD’s and 1 DVD; a triple-vinyl LP set or a digital CD remaster.

The set will also include the complete “Live and Loud” performance, taped on Seattle’s Pier 48 in December 1993.

A separate DVD version will also be available on Sept. 24.

The additional tracks will come from B-sides, previous compilations, live recordings and previously unreleased demos.

“Forrest Gump” showing

This 1994 film follows the story of a man with an IQ of about 75 who stumbles into major historical events from the 1950s to the 1980s.
