Aberdeen Community Food Bank will distribute food from 3 to 5 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at 306 1/2 North I Street.


Friends Fighting Cancer Relay for Life team will host a dance and basket raffle on Saturday at the Hoquiam Elks. Social hour begins at 6 p.m., followed by the dance/raffle from 7 to midnight. Tickets are $5 per person. 21 and older only.

St. Patrick’s Day Dinner, hosted by Aberdeen VFW, will be held from 1 to 7 p.m., Sunday at the Hoquiam VFW. Tickets for the corned beef dinner are $10/Irish stew dinner $7.50 and are available at the Aberdeen American Legion, 40 & 8 Club and the Hoquiam VFW. Proceeds will benefit the Aberdeen VFW building fund.

Grays Harbor Geology & Gem Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Nichols Building at the corner of Sumner and Myrtle. Everyone is invited.

Poetry Project will host an open mic for poets and acoustic musicians from 7-9 p.m., Friday, at Six Rivers Gallery, 210 6th St. No admission, refreshments will be served.

Hoquiam Food & Clothing Bank is open from noon to 2 p.m., every Monday and Wednesday in the Masonic building at 720 K Street.

Pinochle players will meet at 1 p.m. Mondays and Fridays at the Hoquiam Senior Center. Everyone is invited.


Washington State High School Equestrian Team District No. 2 Meet will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the fairgrounds beginning at 7 a.m. each day. For more information, call 482-2651 or visit www.ghcfairgrounds.com

WSU Master Gardeners will offer a free plant clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Demonstration Garden at the fairgounds. The public is invited to bring plant specimens and gardening questions to the clinic.

East County

Friends of Oakville Timberland Library will host a St. Patrick’s Day Dinner from 5-7 p.m., Sunday. Cost is $7.50 per person/no charge for children under 12.

Ocean Shores

Ocean Shores Library will present “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain” from 1 to 4 p.m., Friday for adults. Also that day, “Trashy Fashion Show” will be offered at 5:30 for teens.


Westport Timberland Library will present “PageTurners Book Discussion” at 11 a.m., Friday for adults.


Willapa Harbor Ministerial Food Bank will distribute food to those in need from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday in the building at Larch Street and Park Avenue in Raymond.

South Bend
