Kate Sand of Hoquiam and former Harborite Curtis Thompson, now of Tenino, are engaged and planning to marry this summer.
The bride-to-be, daughter of Michael and Cynthia Sand, is a 2007 homeschool graduate and a 2010 graduate of Grand Canyon University. She is currently working on her master’s in business administration at Saint Martin’s University in Lacey. She is employed as an accountant with Barene/DenAdel.
The intended groom, son of Lee and Karen Thompson of Aberdeen, is a 2004 graduate of Aberdeen High School and a 2008 graduate of Washington State University. He is employed as an adjudicator for Social Security Disability in Tumwater.
The couple plan to wed on June 1 in the Immanuel Baptist Church in Hoquiam.
