“Christmas with the Celts” coming to the D&R Theatre on Dec. 19

The D&R Theatre in Aberdeen will present the traveling yuletide show “Christmas with the Celts” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19. Tickets are on sale now.

The show is the final stop on a 12-city, eight-state winter tour featuring special guests Laura McGhee, a singer and fiddler from Scotland, All-Ireland uilleann piper champion Michael Stribling and lead Irish dance star Alice Ann Robinson.

Also, a dozen local children have been chosen to sing in a children’s choir during the presentation at the D&R. The show’s producer, Ric Blair, contacted local choir director and music teacher Carolyn Greer, “asking if I could provide a children’s choir to sing along with the group’s performance of 'Happy Christmas' by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. It was an opportunity I could not turn down,” she said.

The children’s choir members are Alysa Armstrong, Amelia Bishop, Kendall Cavin, Brandon Emry, Analei Holt, Katie Mudd, Jewel Pacheco, Serena Ritchie, Jessica Robinette, Destini Simmons, Susanna Watkins, and Destinea White.
