Coastal Raptors and the Polson Museum will sponsor a dessert social and video program, “Raptors in Action,” at the Polson Museum at 7 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $15 per person, with proceeds going to the Hoquiam-based non-profit Coastal Raptors organization. Tickets are available at the door.

Mercer Island videographer Dan Reiff will be the special guest. Reiff will share his video of coastal snowy owls hunting at night, young Peregrine falcons just fledged from a nest, merlins hunting over salt water and more. He holds a bachelor’s degrees in environmental sciences and a doctorate in clinical psychology.

Snowy owls are once again wintering at Damon Point at Ocean Shores. Dan Varland of Coastal Raptors will tell you how to judge the age and sex of these wonderful birds.

Signed copies of the award-winning book by Kate Davis — “Raptors of the West Captured in Photographs” — will be available for purchase and a few items will be on display for a silent auction.
