The annual Driftwood Show and Glass Float Roundup will be conducted this weekend at Grayland Community Hall. It will run from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m Saturday and 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday.
The usual Driftwood entries will be judged and displayed for the public’s viewing. There will be vendors set up offering marine life exhibits, food and gift items. Free entertainment will be presented throughout the week-end.
The Glass Float Hunt will again take place offering a beautiful hand-blown float from Verr de mere Glass. Visitors may purchase a hunting license for $4 and then take the South Beach tour of sponsors with their passport. Once they have found a token on the beach and visited three of the several of business sponsors in Grayland and Westport, they can then return to claim their float.
A lecturer on tsunami information, oceanographer Curtis Ebbesmeyer, will be make a presentation along with Allan Rammer, a beachcombing expert, author and speaker. They will be at the Ocosta Elementary School at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $5. They will also both be on hand at the Community Hall both days of the event to share ideas and information and to answer your questions.
