Art Walk set for
Saturday in Aberdeen
The 14th annual Aberdeen Art Walk and Downtown Celebration will be held this weekend, featuring artists, food and vendor booths and live entertainment throughout the day in downtown Aberdeen.
The event kicks off with a street dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday.
There will be a vintage car show, sponsored by the Grays Harbor Midnight Cruizers, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Live entertainment Saturday runs from 11 a.m, until 3 p.m. and includes the singing group Harmony, 2012 Grays Harbor Idol winner Brenda Blankenship, Jackie Mitchell and local band Angie and the Car Wrecks.
Youth and family art activities will run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and include creating art tiles, a sidewalk chalk contest and posters.

The Driftwood Players conclude their presentation of the comedy-drama “Catfish Moon,” directed by Ben Hohman, this weekend with 7:30 p.m. shows on Friday and Saturday.

5th annual Woodfest
at Tokeland Marina
The Tokeland-North Cove Chamber of Commerce is hosting the fifth annual Woodfest at the Tokeland Marina on Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 10 a.m. each day.
The event will feature live music, chainsaw carvers, food booths and a beer garden. The event highlights all things wooden, with other artist and crafters participating.
Garrison Doles concert
at St. Andrews Church
St. Andrews Church in Aberdeen, 400 E. First St., will host a concert by gospel singer Garrison Doles at 7 p.m. Saturday. Suggested donation is $10 and proceeds will benefit Relay for Life.
Trace Adkins, others
coming to D&R
Country star Trace Adkins is set to perform at the D&R Theater on Aug. 18.

Young Artists Show
at Six Rivers Gallery
Six Rivers Gallery in Hoquiam presents its fourth annual Young Artists Show through Aug. 19. An opening reception will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday Aug. 4. Refreshments will be served and the public is invited to attend.

“Heat on the Street”
car show is Aug. 4
The fourth annual “Heat on the Street” Custom Car & Motorcycle Show, hosted by the Elma Chamber of Commerce, will be held Saturday, Aug. 4 with a Cruise-In on Friday night, Aug. 3.
Show & Shine runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and takes place on Main Street in Elma. Live music will be provided by the bands Angie & the Car Wrecks and Ready or Not. The first 250 pre-registered vehicles receive T-shirts, dash plaques, Grays Harbor Raceway ticket, raffle ticket and other goodies. Public admission to the car show is free.
Friday night’s Cruise-In takes place at the Edward Jones parking lot and begins at 6 p.m. All participants registering cars will be treated to hot dogs, soft drinks, and entertainment. The first 100 receive a Cruise-In dash plaque.

County Fair set for
Aug. 8-12 in Elma
Grays Harbor County marks more than a century of down-home country fun as it opens the five-day County Fair in Elma, August 8-12.
Fairgoer favorites such as carnival rides, midway games and animal exhibits offer hands-on excitement in addition to the family-friendly, live-entertainment stages, car races and food concessions. Returning for another year, the popular 4H-sponsored animals, floral displays and garden entries will be judged in the fair pavilion and barns.
Special headliner attractions include the Grammy Award-winning Charlie Daniels Band in concert plus the iconic Davis Carnival midway. Free sprint-car racing at the Gray Harbor Raceway will round out the action at the fair. For kids of all ages, the popular Predators of the Heart wildlife educational exhibit aims to inform and inspire visitors about wildlife and conservation.
Fair tickets include free, general admission seating to top-notch live musical entertainment on the Pepsi stage. Along with country music legend Charlie Daniels, this year’s entertainment lineup features Pop Idols in Concert, that showcases Rhianna, Beyonce, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga tribute acts; Eagles tribute band Hotel California; as well as Credence Clearwater Revival tribute act, The Bayou Boys.
Golden Circle reserved seating tickets for the Charlie Daniels Concert are on sale now for just $25. Fair gate admission is included with Golden Circle Tickets.
General admission to the fair will be $10 for adults, $6 for seniors and $6 for students ages 6 to 18. Children ages 5 and under are free.”
Davis Carnival unlimited-ride wristbands are available at the presale price of $25. Discounted ride passes are on sale at the Grays Harbor County Fair office, Montesano Farm & Home and limited Les Schwab Tire locations throughout the county.
