The Aberdeen Timberland Library opens its annual Winter Lecture Series with a talk titled “The Joy of Shorebirds” by longtime Hoquiam resident and amateur photographer Tom Rowley. The presentation will be held in the meeting room on Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Rowley will talk about Grays Harbor shorebirds, their behavior and migration patterns. An ardent nature observer, Rowley will show some of the many local shorebird images he has captured over the past three years.
The lecture series is sponsored by the Friends of the Aberdeen Timberland Library. Refreshments will be provided. Services will be limited after the library closes at 7 p.m.
The second event in the series will be “A Tribute to Patsy Cline” on Feb. 19 and the final program, “The Lewis & Clark Wildflower Discoveries” will be held on March 19.
The Aberdeen Timberland Library is located at 121 E Market St. For more information, contact the library at (360) 533-2360 or visit www.TRL.org.
