Grays Harbor Music Teachers Association presents its annual “Musicale” scholarship benefit concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen. Admission is free and the public is invited. Donations will be collected at intermission for the scholarship fund to aid students from Grays Harbor and Pacific counties who are music majors or minors in college. Local musicians are invited to perform and donate their time and talents to the event.
Performing in this year’s "Musicale" are:
* Victoria Schuh, soprano and 2012 GHMTA scholarship recipient, accompanied by Michelle Schuh. Among their selections are “Someone to Watch Over Me” by George Gershwin and “The Prayer” from “Quest for Camelot” by Carole Bayer Sager and David Foster.
• The piano duo of Phyllis Pieffer and Merry Jo Zimmer. Among their selections is Suite No. 2, Op. 17 by Romance Sergei Rachmaninoff.
• The Golden Trio — a vocal group featuring Libby Carrico, Cora Foss and Keola Holt. Among their selections are “It Don’t Mean a Thing” by Duke Ellington and “The Long and Winding Road” by The Beatles.
• A piano and string quartet featuring Merry Jo Zimmer, Jeffrey Freed, Lindell Stacy-Horton and Jenny Leighton will perform "Klavierquartett in A minor” by Gustav Mahler.
• Erica Hollen, pianist, performing her own original compositions.
A gourmet dessert reception by O’Brien’s Catering will follow the concert. The church is located at the corner of Fourth and Broadway in Aberdeen.
