Kohl | 50th


Montesano residents Alan “Skip” and Alice Kohl recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Skip Kohl married Alice Johnson in Seattle at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church on Oct. 20, 1962. They have lived in Aberdeen for 20 years and in Montesano for 27 years. Skip graduated from The Evergreen State College and worked for the Lamb Grays Harbor Co. for 32 years. He retired in 1997. Alice graduated from The Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Nursing in Baltimore, Md., and received her Masters in Public Administration from The Evergreen State College. In Grays Harbor she worked as a Registered Nurse for St. Joseph’s Hospital, Grays Harbor College, Grays Harbor Community Hospital and retired from the Grays Harbor County Health Department in 1997.

They have two children, Kirsten (Valentine) Marino of Everett and Eric of Mill Creek. They have one granddaughter.

The Kohl Family plans to celebrate with a family cruise at a later date.
