Gem show this weekend at the Fairgrounds

Grays Harbor Gem and Geology will present their 45th annual “Earth’s Treasures” show at the Elma Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Club members will be showcasing their collections of rock and minerals in their natural form and finished pieces of jewelry and art. Vendors will be there with a large variety of rock equipment and supplies as well as jewelry and rock related items for sale.

There are also demonstrations in many phases of rock polishing and jewelry making by people who are skilled in this art form. Rough rock in all sizes and a large variety of cut and polished pieces will be available at very reasonable prices at the silent auction table.

Door prizes are drawn every half hour and and there is a “Rock Spin A Wheel” where every spins yields a prize.

A black light display will show fluorescence in many rocks and minerals.
