Volunteers are needed to help keep the North Beach clean after the 4th of July.
On the holiday, about 30 volunteers are needed to hand out garbage bags at the beach approaches, and volunteers are also needed to clean up the beaches the day after the holiday.
To sign up for a two-hour shift on the 4th of July, contact Lillian Broadbent at 289-3980, by email at email@example.com, or stop by Gordon’s Antiques across from North Beach High School to select a shift and a beach approach. Bags and water will be provided.
On July 5, the beach clean-up will kick off at 8 a.m. at the Chance a la Mere beach approach near the Shilo Inn, though beach cleaners are welcome to start early.
Trucks will be passing by to pick up filled bags.
The organizers hope to be finished by 10 to 11 a.m.
Donations of heavy-duty garbage bags for the clean-up are welcome, and can be dropped off at Gordon’s Antiques, or can be picked up by calling Broadbent.
