Montesano Planning Commission opening
The City Council will be interviewing candidates for the Montesano Planning Commission on July 23. The Planning Commission meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m.
The Montesano Planning Commission consists of five members, appointed for terms of six years by the mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Candidates must live within the city limits or meet other requirements as set in City Code Chapter 2.36, have a lot of energy and a commitment to serve our community. The position is not compensated but appreciated!
The Planning Commission currently has limited city staff assistance. Councilor Ken Walkington is the City Council liaison to the Commission. The planning agency serves in an advisory capacity to the Mayor and the council on planning issues and has the responsibility to:
• Make recommendations to the Council regarding Zoning Code Definitions
• The Comprehensive Plan Review
• Other planning assignments as directed by the Mayor and Council
