Levee Lumber opens new store in Westport

Levee Lumber, which has been in business on the Harbor since 1984, has opened a third location in Westport to go along with stores in Hoquiam and Ocean Shores.

The Westport store opened April 1 with a grand opening planned for some time next month.

“We’ve had an excellent, excellent response from the Westport community. People are happy to see us here and we’re happy to be here,” said Westport store manager Keith German, who’s worked for Levee Lumber since 1990.

“We are very excited to celebrate the opening of our new store, and we look forward to being an important addition to the community stated owner Tom Weber. “We’ve worked hard to customize everything in the store to the specific needs and wants of our local customers. Our knowledgeable staff is here to help customers with their projects — large or small.”

Westport residents have been without a full-service hardware and lumber store since the closing of Bayview Lumber in August. Levee Lumber took over the location — just off State Rout 105 near the Westport “Y” — earlier this year.

“We gutted the building back to the walls,” German said. “We’ve been working on it since January.”

Outside, there’s a full-service lumber yard and a wide array of landscaping needs spread across the one-acre site.

Inside — spread out among 4,500 square feet — is everything you would expect from a hardware center: paint, tools, gardening supplies, decking supplies, windows — even some sporting goods, camping equipment and fishing tackle.

Like it’s Hoquiam headquarters, which has a company feed store across the street, the Levee Lumber in Westport has a large area of feed and pet supplies, something that is handy in a rural area such as South Beach.

“Our feed an pet supplies are going to be available out here for both companion animals and livestock,” German said.

There are currently seven employees, noted German.

“You get the same customer service here as in all our stores,” he said.

German believes Westport customers are going the be delighted not having to travel into Aberdeen for many of their around-the-home needs.

“We’re very price competitive,” he said, “and we have a delivery truck and fork lift truck at our disposal if need be.”

The store hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The store is closed on Sunday. The phone number is (360) 268-1850 or check out the company website at levee.com
