The local chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness is hosting a 12-week series of afternoon classes in Ocean Shores starting Sept. 9.
The free course will cover schizophrenia, obsessive compulsive behavior and mood disorders such as bipolar disorder, coping skills to handling a mental health crisis, as well as problem-solving skills and other areas. The course has been specially designed for family members of those who have mental illness. It is not appropriate for those who may actually have one of the major mental illnesses.
