Aberdeen Police find woman locked in bedroom

Aberdeen Police responded last night to a home in the 200 block of East Curtis Street and found a 55-year-old woman who told them that, against her will, she had been locked in a bedroom with windows that had been covered up with plywood.

A 60-year-old man who lives at the home was taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital for a mental health evaluation and arrested for unlawful imprisonment-domestic violence. He was booked into the Aberdeen City Jail.

Police arrived at the home about 9:30 last night. They found the woman in a bedroom that had been locked from the outside.

The woman said she rents a room but did not want to be locked inside. She reported no injuries to the officers.

Aberdeen Police detectives are continuing the investigation, and will seek a search warrant for the house on East Curtis Street.
