A 54-year-old Grays Harbor resident was arrested for allegedly breaking into a business north of Hoquiam, law enforcment officials said Monday.
The man was arrested Monday at his home on Ocean Shores Boulevard, just outside the city limits of Hoquiam. Officials say the man robbed a store on the 800 Block of U.S. Highway 101, north of Hoquiam. At 6 p.m. Monday, deputies were called to the store for a reported break-in. The owner of the store recently purchased a security camera after a break-in and upon viewing the tape, North Beach Resident Deputy Rob Wilson identified a man on the video as someone in his patrol area with whom he is familiar. The deputies who first responded to the scene did not make such identification, officials said.
Deputies went to the suspect’s house, where they saw a vehicle that matched one recorded in the video. Items from the burglary were allegedly found inside the vehicle. The man was arrested at his house and taken to the county jail without incident. The suspect was charged with second-degree non-residential burglary and taken to the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office.
