With funnels and marbles, wooden wedges, pulleys and duct tape, Aberdeen High School freshmen showed off their Rube Goldberg-style machines this week.
Goldberg was known for making artistic, kinetic machines that were able to perform simple tasks. AHS Integrative Science teacher Tracy Horn said that the sculptures were a great way to get across some of the lessons she teaches.
“They integrate the concepts of energy and work into the machines,” she said.
The machines are an annual part of the school’s science curriculum.
