O’Reilly Auto Parts is moving locations to its own stand-alone store in Aberdeen. The store is currently on Simpson next to the Dollar Tree in Aberdeen.
Last week, the Aberdeen Board of Adjustment approved a conditional use permit for applicant Eric Veloni to build a new 8,000 square foot building and parking spaces on an area of land between Sumner and Simpson in Aberdeen and abutting Rice Street. The property was recently used by the Aberdeen Fire Department to conduct some training.
Veloni announced at the board meeting last week that the project will be used for an O’Reilly Auto Parts store, according to Aberdeen Community Development Director Lisa Scott.
A conditional use permit was needed because it’s zoned residential/commercial and only a building 4,000 square feet or less can be built without the special permit.
In other building news, the city recently issued building permits for the owners of the old Rocky’s Pizza building to do some renovation work. The building has been dormant since the Morck development deal fell apart about four years ago.
City officials had no word on what could go inside of it.
