A home in the 2100 block of Cherry Street was damaged by fire this morning, the Aberdeen Fire Department reported.
Firefighters responded at about 3:25 a.m. Wednesday and put the fire out quickly, but about 30 percent of the home was damaged, Assistant Chief Rich Malizia said.
It was a busy day for Aberdeen Fire; the department went out on 22 calls for service, including a fire alarm response and a medical call during the response to the Cherry Street fire.
The home that burned was also burglarized last week, Aberdeen Police said. The family was on vacation at the time of the fire. There were no injuries.
