Aberdeen police are investigating a report that two men tried to coax a 10-year-old boy into a car Thursday evening.
The boy told police he was walking down Arnold Street between 8th and 9th avenues about 5 p.m. when a gray or silver colored car, possibly a Honda, passed him. The boy said he heard the car turn around and head back toward him. The boy said the car stopped next to him on Arnold Street and a man in the back seat opened a door and told the boy to get in. The boy said he ran away, down Arnold Street to a home in the 700 Block of 8th Avenue and was met by a witness who lives there. The witness said they heard a young child yelling for help and then saw the victim, who ran up to their house.
One of the suspects was described as a younger male with blotchy facial hair, short hair, similar to a crew cut, white or gray shirt with jeans. The vehicle was, or is similar to, a four-door Honda.
Officers checked the area and spoke to people in the neighborhood. The subjects and vehicle were not located.
