City renews firing range contract with Corrections

The Aberdeen City Council approved a contract with the state Department of Corrections for the use of the city-owned firing range for the next three years. The contract will pay the city about $10,150 per year, according to Police Chief Bob Torgerson.

Torgerson said that Corrections personnel currently use the firing range and that the contract merely renews the existing agreements.

Funds generated through the contract go right back to maintaining the firing range, Torgerson said.
