ELMA — Country entertainer Clay Walker will be performing at this year’s Grays Harbor County Fair.
With No. 1 hit singles like, “What’s It To You,” “Rumor Has It,” “This Woman and This Man,” and “Live Until I Die,” Fair Director Mike Bruner said that he recently heard Walker perform at an expo for regional fairs and came away impressed.
“We were lucky to get him,” Bruner said, noting that the stop at the fairgrounds in Elma happened to fit into Walker’s tour schedule.
The show is already slated for 8 p.m. Aug. 7 for a show to last 75 minutes to 90 minutes. Tickets would be free with fair admission, although the contract allows 312 seats to be sold for a “golden ring” at the front for a price not to exceed $30.
The county commissioners on Monday approved a contract for $40,000 to bring Walker to the fairgrounds. The contract will be paid with sponsorships and the admission costs to the concert and the fairgrounds.
