A wrecked pickup truck is towed from the scene of an accident that left the driver dead near the SR 107 bridge spanning the Chehalis River near Montesano Friday morning. According State Patrol, the truck lost control due to icy conditions and left the roadway, coming to rest upside down in the marsh below.

Department of Transportation workers tape off an area where wooden railing was destroyed by a pickup truck on the SR 107 bridge spanning the Chehalis River near Montesano Friday morning. The driver of the truck was killed when his vehicle left the bridge and landed upside down in the marsh below.
A Cosmopolis man was killed early this morning when his car slid of the icy roadway near Mary’s River Lumber on Highway 107.
Gonzalo L. Santos, 37, was heading northbound on Highway 107 at 5:18 a.m. when he apparently slid on the ice, crossed over the oncoming lane, crashed through the bridge railing and flipped upside down, landing in several feet of water in the slough along the Chehalis River. The highway was blocked for several hours.
