A truck driver lost control of his load just south of Cosmopolis on Thursday afternoon, dumping steel pipe over the roadway and blocking Highway 101 for about an hour and a half.
The 44-year-old driver from Naselle suffered minor injuries, according to the State Patrol, when his load of pipe shifted on a curve about 7 1/2 miles south of Cosmopolis at around 4:45 p.m. Thursday. The load tipped and spilled onto the roadway, while the 2004 Kenworth truck he was driving left the road and struck a tree.
The driver was not taken to the hospital after the crash, according to the State Patrol report.
The highway was completely blocked for about 1 1/2 hours.
Troopers listed the cause of the accident as an unsecured load, and do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved.
The crash is still under investigation.
