Damaged fishing vessel brought to Port

The 314-foot fishing vessel that caught fire off the coast of Westport Monday has been towed to the Port of Grays Harbor’s Terminal 3 near Bowerman Field in Hoquiam, where it will be inspected by the Coast Guard. The engine room fire aboard Arctic Storm was put out by the on-board fire suppression system, but the ship was disabled. Monday night, 78 non-essential crew members were evacuated to four good Samaritan fishing boats, then ferried ashore by charter fishing vessels hired out of Westport; 42 remained aboard to bring the ship in. The Coast Guard will investigate the cause of the fire and check for damage. No leaks or pollution of any kind have been reported so far.
