The Langley Hill Doppler radar facility has been undergoing maintenance this week. A spokesman for the National Weather Service said there’s nothing wrong with the radar — it just needs a checkup.
But the device was scheduled to be disabled part of the week, said Ted Buehner of the National Weather service. The radar will resume normal operation Friday.
“It’s just a normal, ho-hum, routine service,” Buehner said. “It’s a good week to do it because there’s no weather going on.”
The radar was installed in September of 2011 in part as a response to the 2007 storm that devastated much of the Twin Harbors.
