Driver sought in hit and run

Aberdeen Police are searching for the driver in a hit and run on South Park Street April 25.

Capt. John Green said the victim had apparently been walking near an alleyway on the 100 block of South Park Street at about 6 p.m. April 25 when a silver Chrysler PT Cruiser with tinted windows struck him. A witness said he heard tires squeal, then turned and saw the victim in mid-air.

The witness told police he saw the driver stop, get out of the car and look down at the victim, then get back in his car and drive away. The victim was not seriously injured.

The driver is described as a Hispanic or Native American man in his mid-20s to early 30s, about 6 feet tall with an athletic building and short, dark hair. He was clean shaven, well-dressed and wearing sunglasses, the witness reported.

Police ask anyone with information to call 533-3180 or the tip line at 538-4450.
