Farra, Broadbent take early leads in Council races

Incumbent City Councilwoman Jackie Farra and former Councilman Gordon Broadbent held sizable leads in the first round of election results reported Tuesday night by the Grays Harbor County Auditor’s Office.

Farra (743 votes, 53.15 percent), seeking her second term for Position No. 5 on the Ocean Shores council, led former Snohomish County Transit employee Troy Crawford, who had 655 votes (46.85) in his first run for public office.

Broadbent, who served an appointed two-year term before losing two years ago to Ed Engel, held a similar lead over Cathey Peterson, another first-time candidate, for Position No. 7. Broadbent had 758 votes (53.01 percent) to Peterson’s 672 (46.99).

Another incumbent, Councilman John Lynn, ran unopposed for Position No. 1.

The next round of counted ballots will be released on Friday at 3 p.m.
