Feeling quilty? Whale of a Quilt Show this weekend

Calling all quilters …

The Ocean Shores Sea Pals Quilting Guild presents its 19th annual Whale of a Quilt Show this weekend at the Ocean Shores Convention Center.

Everyone from beginners to quilt veterans is invited to view some high-quality quilts, watch experts at work, learn how to craft quilts or purchase quilts Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This show presents quilts, quilted items, wearables, and other items that have been made by the members.

Admission is free; drinks and refreshments will be available.

Winning entries are not judged by a panel, but by visitors to the show.

There will be various vendors from the Northwest featuring the latest in fabrics, patterns, quilting/sewing supplies and machines. Other favorites are “The Boutique” that presents many handmade items for sale and “Quilters in Action” making quilts. Demonstrations from vendors and other quilters are scheduled all three days; schedules will be posted at the show.

There will be a “Quilt Walk” with various business locations participating. Free maps will be available at the show. The Quilt Walk will be Sept. 20 - Oct. 4.

The Ocean Shores Sea Pals Quilt Guild is a non-profit organization made up of 85 quilters from Ocean Shores and the surrounding area.

The funds raised are used for helping local charitable organizations, sponsoring the annual show and conducting classes to teach new skills for members. For more information see seapalsquilters.org.
